Privacy notice

This notice explains how Barreto Design Studio Ltd, trading as Barreto Architectural Studio (“I”), uses personal information. I am the data controller.

What I collect

Your name, address, phone number, email, photos and drawings of your property, and anything you tell me about your project. This comes from you by WhatsApp, phone, email or at a visit.

If you received a letter from me, I used your address from the council’s public planning register or Land Registry sold price data, because I have a legitimate interest in offering a relevant local service.

How I use it

To reply to you, provide a fee proposal, carry out the work under our contract, submit planning and Building Regulations applications, and keep business and tax records as the law requires.

Who I share it with

Only where needed for your project: the council, Building Control, structural engineers and builders you choose, my insurer and my accountant. I never sell your data. Planning applications are published by the council.

How long I keep it

Project records are kept for 15 years after the work, because claims about building design can be brought for that long. Enquiries that don’t go ahead are deleted after 12 months.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or ask me not to write to you again. Email [email protected]. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
